Steel framing supplier for Sault Ste. Marie.
Building in the Sault means ordering from a long way off, and a short shipment costs you days, not hours. As a competitively priced steel framing supplier for Sault Ste. Marie, we roll interior steel studs and track, structural studs and every accessory on your takeoff, cut them to length, and ship them north as one complete, checked load. Stock orders reach the Sault in 1 to 3 business days, in any quantity.

Ordering from the Sault
Ordering steel framing from 700 km away.
In Sault Ste. Marie, the real cost of a framing order is rarely the price per stud. It is the missing box of clips, the track that was left off the list, or the bundle that arrives cut to the wrong height. In the GTA, that is a phone call and a next-day top-up. Up here, it can stall a crew for most of a week.
That is why Sault orders are run differently. Every load is checked line by line against your takeoff before it leaves our plant at 40 Millwick Drive in Toronto, and the person confirming your order can answer a technical question about it. Below: how we build a complete load, how delivery to the Algoma District works through the winter, and which products Sault projects order most.
Products we stock for Sault Ste. Marie projects
What we roll.
Four product families cover most Sault institutional, multi-unit and industrial work. Anything outside them, send the section detail.
Interior and structural studs and track, slotted and flex track, shaftwall CH stud and J-track, windbrace and L-track.
Furring, resilient and carrying channel, Z-bar, corner beads and trims, hanger and tie wire, clips, lath and mesh.
Cold-formed floor joists and rim track (LSF floor system), roof deck, composite floor deck, form deck, acoustic deck.
Special profiles bent from galvanized steel to your shop drawing.
Complete, checked loads
One truck, nothing missing.
A complete load is the whole point of ordering from one plant when you build this far north. Before a Sault order ships, it goes through four checks.
Takeoff
Your takeoff, checked before it is rolled
We read your list against the drawings, not just the line items. If the partitions call for deflection track and the list shows standard track, or the stud count does not match the wall lengths, we flag it before anything is manufactured.
Accessories
Accessories ride with the framing
Clips, connectors, channel, bead and hanger wire are packed on the same truck as the studs. They are the items most likely to be forgotten and the cheapest to include up front.
Labelling
Bundles labelled by floor and phase
Each bundle is tagged to the floor, unit or phase on your schedule, so the crew unloading in Sault Ste. Marie is not sorting a full truck in the snow.
Dispatch
The load confirmed before dispatch
Ask for the packing list before the truck leaves, and check it against your schedule while there is still time to add something.
These are the items that most often go missing from northern framing orders, and what happens on site when they do.

Delivery and lead times to the Sault
Delivery to Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma District.
Our plant sits roughly 700 km from downtown Sault Ste. Marie, a long day north on Highway 400 and 69, then west on Highway 17 through Sudbury. That distance shapes how every delivery is planned.

In the city
Jobsite delivery across the city
We deliver direct to sites across Sault Ste. Marie, including downtown and Queen Street East, the West End, the East End, Korah, Tarentorum, the Great Northern Road corridor and the Algoma University and Sault College area. Tell us about site access, laydown space and boom requirements when you order, so the truck is set up for your lot before it leaves Toronto.
Highway 17
Beyond city limits
Projects along the Highway 17 corridor, including Prince Township, Garden River, Echo Bay, St. Joseph Island and Goulais River, and further out toward Elliot Lake and Wawa, can be quoted with a Sault delivery. Send the site address with your takeoff.
Winter
Winter deliveries
The Sault averages around 300 cm of snow a year, and lake-effect squalls off Lake Superior can close stretches of highway at short notice. For winter orders we build a buffer into the delivery date and confirm with you the day before dispatch, so you are not holding a crew for a truck that is waiting out a closure.
On site
Storing steel on a northern site
Galvanized steel will not rot or warp the way lumber does, but bundles left flat on frozen ground or under melting snow can trap water and develop white rust on the coating. Keep bundles raised on dunnage, sloped slightly so water drains, and covered with a breathable tarp until they are installed.
Climate and code
Framing for heavy snow and long winters.
Sault Ste. Marie carries one of the higher design ground snow loads in Ontario, and the climate shapes framing decisions inside the building as well as on the roof.
Projects here are built to the 2024 Ontario Building Code (O. Reg. 163/24), in force since January 1, 2025, with snow load values taken from Supplementary Standard SB-1.
Deflection at the head of wall: roofs move under heavy snow. Partitions that run to the underside of the roof deck need slotted or deflection track, so the wall is not loaded when the roof deflects.
Structural studs for exterior walls: steel stud backup walls carry wind and, near parapets, drifting snow. Gauge and spacing come from the engineer’s design, and we roll structural steel studs and track from 20 to 12 gauge to match.
Thermal bridging: steel studs conduct heat. In exterior walls, energy requirements are usually met with continuous insulation outside the studs, which changes the stud depth, clips and girts you order.
Submittal documentation: CSSBI product certification and specification sheets ready for City of Sault Ste. Marie permit submittals and institutional spec reviews.

Yards and distributors
Supplying yards and distributors in the Sault.
Many northern contractors buy through a local yard, and a yard that stocks steel framing in Sault Ste. Marie turns a top-up order into a trip across town instead of across the province.
We supply building material distributors and lumber yards in the Sault and the Algoma District with full-load pricing, consistent gauge and coating from run to run, and product documentation for their own customers.
