Saturn Metal (“Saturn Metal”, “we”, “us”) manufactures and supplies cold-formed steel framing products in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you request a quote, contact us, or request technical documents, we may collect:
- your name, company, email address, phone number and city
- project details, such as product types, sizes, quantities, required delivery date and notes
- files you upload, such as drawings, bills of materials (BOMs) or specifications
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the time of your visit. We use it to keep the Site secure and working properly.
Information stored in your browser. The Site may store the items you add to your quote list in your browser, so the list is kept while you browse.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- prepare and send quotes, and answer your questions
- provide the technical documents you request
- process, manufacture and deliver orders
- follow up on your request and provide customer service
- keep the Site secure, prevent abuse and fix technical problems
- meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
We send marketing emails only with your consent, in line with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Sharing your information
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers that help us run our business, such as our website host (Hostinger), email providers, and delivery or logistics partners. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Professional advisers and authorities, when the law requires it or when needed to protect our rights.
- A buyer or successor, if our business is sold or reorganized.
Third-party services and links
- Reviews widget: our customer reviews section is provided by Elfsight, which may collect technical data such as your IP address when the widget loads.
- Maps: our address links to Google Maps.
- Social media and WhatsApp: links to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and WhatsApp take you to those services, and their own privacy policies apply. If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp processes that message.
Cookies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies that are needed for it to work, such as security, login and saving your quote list. Third-party services described above may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features may then stop working.
Where your information is stored
Your information may be stored or processed outside Ontario, or outside Canada, by our service providers. When that happens, it may be accessible to authorities in those places under their laws. We use contracts and other measures to protect it.
How long we keep it
We keep quote and project information for as long as needed to serve you and to meet legal and accounting requirements, generally up to 7 years after your last interaction with us. After that we securely delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your rights
You can:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy
- ask us to correct information that is wrong
- withdraw your consent to marketing at any time
- ask us to delete your information, subject to our legal obligations
