Drywall & Ceiling Accessories

The channels, trims and wire that finish drywall walls and ceilings. Carrying, furring and resilient channel and Z-bar build ceilings and furred walls, corner bead and trims finish the board edges, and clips, metal lath and security mesh complete the assembly.

One cold-formed steel U channel with three jobs: the main runner of a suspended ceiling, hung on wire; bridging that runs through the stud knockouts and ties a wall of studs into one line; and bracing that holds every stud against twisting and bowing.
A light, hat-shaped galvanized steel channel. Its feet fasten to a masonry or concrete wall, to joists or the structure, or tie under carrying channel; its flat face gives a straight line to screw gypsum board to.
Single-leg RC1 channel screwed across steel or wood studs and joists, with the gypsum board screwed to the channel instead of the framing. Its slotted web flexes, so less sound passes from the board into the structure.
Straight galvanized steel wire that hangs a suspended ceiling from the building structure. Each wire is tied to the slab, joist or deck above and saddle-tied around the carrying channel below. Offered in 9 ga and 12 ga, cut to 12′ lengths and bundled by gauge.
Thin, soft annealed 18 ga galvanized steel wire, cut to 27″ and 42″ lengths. It ties furring channel to carrying channel at every crossing, ties metal lath to its channels and laps, and holds joints to the lath. It is a tying wire, not a hanger.
Galvanneal steel corner bead for every 90° outside corner of a drywall wall, column, bulkhead or opening. Its rounded nose gives a straight, hard-wearing corner line, and its 1-1/4″ knurled flanges with key holes hold the joint compound.
Galvanneal steel corner bead for wide-angle outside corners. It is formed at 130° to fit the 135° corners of bay windows, angled walls, chamfered columns and angled bulkheads, with 1-1/4″ knurled flanges that hold the joint compound.
Galvanized steel L trim that gives a clean, finished edge where gypsum board ends: at door and window openings without a wood casing, and where the board meets a suspended ceiling, beam, plaster, masonry or concrete. Fastened after the board is hung and finished with joint compound.
Galvanized steel J trim that caps the end of a gypsum board with a clean, finished line at window and door openings, columns, mullions, concrete, masonry and wall or ceiling intersections. Its 3/8″ leg leaves a straight steel line on the board face, so it needs no joint compound.
Galvanized clips that join cold-formed steel framing to itself and to the building: studs to slabs, joists to rims, walls to foundations, brick to backup walls. 23 clips in four families: rigid, deflection and bypass, masonry veneer and specialty.
Galvanized diamond mesh: a light steel sheet opened into many small diamonds. Fastened to framing, it is the base for cement plaster (stucco), interior plaster, adhered stone veneer and tile mortar beds; the first coat pushes through the openings and hardens into a solid key.
Flattened expanded steel mesh screwed to the studs behind the gypsum board. It adds a continuous steel layer inside the wall that helps it resist forced entry, in pharmacies, banks, cash offices, server rooms, records rooms, retail and demising walls.
Galvanized steel Z-shaped furring with a back flange, a web and a front flange. Fastened to a concrete or masonry wall, it keeps rigid insulation in position and gives a flat line of steel flanges for gypsum board, lath or cladding. The web depth matches the insulation, from 1″ to 6″.
