Product overview
Security mesh is a flattened #9 expanded metal mesh fastened inside framed walls and ceilings, behind the finish, to add resistance to cut-through and forced entry. It is used in pharmacies, retail stockrooms, server rooms, cash rooms and other spaces that need added resistance to intrusion. Two patterns are offered, 3/4″ #9F and 1-1/2″ #9F, in 4′ × 8′ sheets. Sheets are screwed to every stud and track, with edges butted and wire-tied between studs, and the mesh usually runs full height from slab to structure. Fire-rated walls must still follow their tested design. Data sheet DS-23 shows the layout, fastening and installation steps.
