Custom Manufacturing / Commercial Capability

Custom Profiles.
Your Dimensions.

When the standard catalogue does not match the wall, we roll it to your dimensions. Send a drawing or a set of dimensions and our team reviews what we can produce.

Custom Manufacturing Capability

Start with the requirement.

Four things can be changed on a standard profile: how long it is, how thick the steel is, how wide the web and legs are, and the shape itself.

Customization

Custom Lengths

Standard studs ship in 8, 9, 10 and 12 foot lengths. Heavy gauge studs are cut to any length your wall needs.

Customization

Gauges / Thicknesses

Standard production runs 25, 20, 18, 16, 14 and 12 gauge. Other thicknesses are reviewed against the profile and the run size.

Customization

Widths / Legs

Standard webs run 1-5/8 to 14 inches with flanges from 1-1/4 to 3 inches. Non-standard dimensions are quoted per drawing.

Customization

Custom Profiles

Z-bars, specialty tracks, trims, angles and clips formed to a geometry that is not in the catalogue at all.

Custom Bent Profiles · DS-30

Bent to your sketch.

When a standard stud, track, angle or Z does not fit, we bend the profile to your sketch: angles, channels, Z, hats, caps, flashings, closures and multi-bend shapes in galvanized steel. Sketch the end view, send it to us, and we return a dimensioned drawing and a quotation for your approval.

Thickness

25 to 12 gauge

18 to 97 mil galvanized steel, from closures and flashings at 25 ga to heavy brackets at 12 ga.

Bends

Any angle

90° for a square corner, 180° for a hem folded flat, and anything in between.

Number of bends

As many as needed

From a single angle to multi-bend shapes with six bends or more.

Length

Up to 12'

Cut to the lengths you order, bundled and labelled by mark.

Raw width

Up to 48"

All legs added together. A 2″ × 4-1/2″ angle needs 6-1/2″ of raw width.

Coating

G40 · G60 · G90

Choose the coating on the request form, or name another.

Custom bent profiles: step closure, hat and open angle

Ten shapes, any angle.

Angle, open angle, channel, Z, hat, cap and coping, drip and flashing, J, closure and step, and multi-bend shapes. These are examples only: any shape, any angle, as many bends as the profile needs.

  1. Sketch it. Fill in the request form on page 2 of DS-30, or send your own drawing.
  2. We draw it. You get a dimensioned drawing with the raw width, and a quotation.
  3. You approve. The approved drawing is the profile you receive.
  4. Ready to go. In the lengths you order, bundled and labelled by mark, for pick-up or delivery.

Load-carrying profiles are sized by the designer. Send the filled-in form or your sketch through the form below.

WHAT TO SEND

Give the technical review a clear starting point.

The more complete the information, the faster we can tell you whether we can roll it and what it will cost. A drawing answers most of these at once.

How Custom Orders Work

From drawing to finished profile.

Five steps, with a decision point at each one. Nothing goes into production before the dimensions and the commercial terms are both confirmed.

01

Send Requirement

Drawing, dimensions, gauge, length, quantity and the project it is for.

02

Technical Review

We check the geometry against what our line can form, and flag anything that needs changing.

03

Clarify Details

We come back with questions on anything the drawing leaves open.

04

Quote

Pricing, lead time and minimum run size for the confirmed profile.

05

Production

The profile is rolled, cut to length and scheduled for delivery.

Technical Review

What we check before production.

Our review confirms that a profile can be manufactured as drawn. Structural design, load capacity and code compliance stay with your engineer of record.
