Product overview
Stiffer walls and level ceilings.
Steel studs are open sections that tend to rotate under load. Running bridging channel horizontally through the stud knockouts and connecting it at each stud, usually with a bridging clip, ties the studs together so the wall resists twisting from wind or axial load.
In ceilings, the same channel works as a carrying channel. It is hung from hanger wire or rods, and furring channel is tied or clipped beneath it to receive drywall. Saturn Metal offers 3/4″ and 1-1/2″ sizes in 18 or 16 gauge, in 10′ and 12′ lengths.
